India + Jeremey | Engagement

These two are adorable. They drove almost 2 hours for their session and it rained. And rained. And rained. But they were the best sports and didn’t let it bother them.
They embraced it all and just had a good time hanging out with each other. They love to hang out together at a park in Arkansas, go to the movies and apparently Jeremey
is secretly a good cook. We did get lucky that the cats and dogs didn’t come until the minute we wrapped up the session! But I have no doubt they would have gone all
in because they love being with each other that much. Enjoy; may they brighten your day!

Rachel + Jeff | Engagement

What a special couple to me! Jeff is a fantastic musician and Rachel is the sweetest person you will ever meet!
I knew Jeff while our educational paths briefly crossed at the University of Memphis. I knew of Rachel, but didn’t know her that well.
She was a bride’s maid in a wedding of mine a couple of years ago and then several of her friends have been part of the amydale family.

I’m so thrilled they asked me to shoot their engagement session! They are soooo much fun! Which I know everyone is going to tell by these pictures!
I look forward to Rachel’s bridal session in the spring – ah, girl! You are going to be a beautiful bride!
I won’t be able to shoot their wedding, but hey, wedding photographer, you better treat them right! They are awesome! ;)

P.S. For those of you who won’t recognize it, Jeff’s guitar is a Breedlove guitar. :)

Ashley + Andrew | Engagement

I love Ashley’s spunk and kind spirit. Her and Andrew are the sweetest people you’ll ever meet!
After our early morning engagement session, I am so pumped about their early December wedding! Let’s pray for no rain and a warm front! :)

As always, I want every engagement session to reflect the couple and their interests as individuals and together.
When they both mentioned they love to hang out with each other in a hammock, I searched high and low for one!
After hours and hours of calling and going to stores, I couldn’t find one! Did I think to ask them if they had one? NO!
They had the most comfortable hammock I have ever sat in and I will definitely be getting one!
Lesson learned: just remember to ask.

Anyway, that’s enough about how silly I can be! On to their amazingness for you to see for yourself…

Hay bales, fences, a kick ball, geese, and a warehouse… all the amazing things to make an amazing session!
I’m looking forward to their October wedding!

3 things I love about this couple:

1. Cori’s amazing red hair.

2. Their laid-back style.

3. They both have engagement rings.

Kamrin + Eric | Engagement

What an amazing couple! Kamrin and Eric love to bike, hike, adventure and at the end of it all, just chill with each other.
They used my tandem bike, which I have to give major props to BIKES PLUS for restoring so beautifully for me!
Kamrin brought one of her great-grandmother’s quilts to incorporate in the session. It is BEAUTIFUL!
We ended with a patient wait to be a kid. It was worth the wait!

Before the pictures… The bike has a story that I’d really like to share…

Growing up, there was an old man that lived in my subdivision and he and his wife always road bikes. In the evening I would sometimes catch them riding a tandem.
I always thought it was so sweet and ever since, I have always wanted a tandem bicycle but never had the money or the space for it.
Fast forward to about 6 months ago…

I was driving to see my parents one random day and I saw a bike in the front yard of a house. It had a sign, “For Sale”.
I ran up to the door and asked how much it was. A man quietly said, “Twenty-five Dollars”. I quickly and excitedly said I’d be back with cash.
When I came to pick it up, I remembered the man from my childhood. I asked him why he was getting rid of it and I told him I remembered him riding it when I was a kid.
He reservedly said, “I’m just trying to clean out some things.” I couldn’t help but think maybe his wife had fallen ill or passed away.

I assured him the bike would be taken care of and put to good use. He seemed happy but mentioned how he had very fond memories with it and hated to rid of it.
It was in poor condition, but I was willing to do whatever it took to restore it to working and good condition.

To me, this bike represents love. A long-lasting relationship filled with compromise, teamwork and time with each other.
I am so proud that the bike will be used this way. It doesn’t matter if it’s Andrew and I taking rides by the river or bike-enthusiasts like Kamrin and Eric.
I feel the man and his wife would be honored that their impression of love, they don’t even know was left on a young child neighbor, is being passed on.
